Treat Your Anxiety and Manage Your Stress with Hypnotherapy

WHAT ARE THE TRADITIONAL WAYS OF TREATING ANXIETY & STRESS

There are three main traditional ways through which anxiety can be treated:

  • Medication which is being offered to the anxiety-ridden patient is more like putting a band-aid on a gaping wound. It may provide temporary relief but may not address the underlying cause.  You must take the medication daily which can have serious side effects.  Also, medication can sometimes take weeks before it shows any effect.  Because most medications have such an effect on the human body, you also have to be very cautious when deciding to discontinue use and stop taking the medication in a slow and titrated method.

  • While psychotherapy or counseling may have an effect, these methods can sometimes be costly and long in duration. It is dependent upon a therapist with whom you must develop a deep relationship.  Also, there is the continual need for a therapist to be present as you uncover layer upon layer of hurt, trauma, or issues.
  • Some people try to ignore it or get used to their anxiety for many years until the symptoms demand attention. Perhaps the person is so anxious that he is driving his family crazy and his wife wants a divorce. Or she begins to self-medicate her anxiety with alcohol, drugs, sex, food or gambling. Again, the symptoms are being treated without going to the source of the anxiety and the so-called treatment will not solve the problem at all.

WHAT MAKES SELF HYPNOSIS SO EFFECTIVE IN TREATING STRESS?

Self Hypnosis is a specific tool for helping an individual have more influence over their own thoughts and actions.  Our brains work in “waves”.   If you think of brain waves as musical notes, our brains play a symphony during a 24 hour period because they change according to what we’re doing and feeling. When slower brain waves are dominant, we can feel tired or dreamy. Whereas the higher frequencies are dominant when we feel wired or hyper-alert.

From this understanding, we know that each night just before we fall asleep, our brainwave patterns shift into the slower dreamy wave state.  This is the same state we try to achieve during self-hypnosis.  It is that simple.

The state of hypnosis can be described as a state of highly focused attention with heightened suggestibility. Hypnosis is sometimes, but not always, accompanied by relaxation. When a person learns how to consciously activate this specific state of self-hypnosis, they can use it to modify behavior, emotions, and attitudes.  Because of this, you can learn to deeply relax and help yourself by controlling those jarring thoughts that sometimes tend to spin out of control. Effective self-hypnosis can quickly help you reach a deep place within yourself to alleviate the stress and anxiety you are feeling in your life.

By signing up with Dr. Jesse Morgaina, PsyD, you will begin with an intense exploration of your particular stressors and triggers.  The feelings that trigger anxiety and stress are quite often fear, panic and shame.  However, talking about feelings does not always release, resolve or relieve them because emotions are not located only in the brain. They are located in the body.

During hypnosis, your subconscious mind is being addressed and requested to bring awareness to locate the missing pieces of a puzzle that are responsible for the anxiety. The subconscious mind is a huge reservoir of information, exactly like the memory chip in your computer. It stores a vast amount of information about patterns in your life and it can be accessed easily through hypnotherapy.

The best part about this workshop, is you are taught the tools you need to hypnotize yourself so you are no longer dependent upon someone else to help relieve your stress, anxiety and suffering.  In just 3 – two hour classes, our workshop can help you learn and practice this valuable tool to enhance your everyday life.

Self-hypnosis is not just for stress and anxiety, either.  You can learn this powerful technique to help stop smoking, lose weight, gain better study habits, become a better test taker, and any number of issues you may be struggling with.
