About Harmonious Hearts Counseling Center LLC

Dr. Jesse Morgaina has been helping people from Northern Colorado since the mid1980s. Originally, Jesse obtained her Master’s degree in Health Education with the goal of supporting people in their desire to get physically healthy by helping them remove any internal blocks that would prevent that from happening. While teaching health education classes at the local college, the department dean approached her saying he really liked her teaching style, and would she be willing to teach classes in psychology. Since Jesse loves a good challenge, she accepted this assignment.

Dr. Morgaina discovered her love for psychology while she was teaching and learning more about the subject. It gave her great insight into understanding herself and the people around her. As a single parent of two children, Jesse returned to school to pursue her Doctorate in Psychology. She graduated with her Doctorate and has been enjoying being a psychotherapist in private practice ever since.

Because of her background in Health Education, Dr. Morgaina is particularly interested in the growing body of psychology as it is linked to neuro-psychology. Neuro-psychology is the study of the structure and functions of the brain as they relate to specific psychological processes and behaviors. It closely exposes the intra-relationship between the physical body and the chemicals released by the body due to the mind’s activity. Her interest in this subject inspired Dr. Morgaina to became certified in two types of body psychotherapy, which helped increase the growing number of tools she could use to care for her clients.

With her exposure to the people in her life, Dr. Morgaina recognized the prevalence of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) among first responders and other professionals due to the stress incurred from the work environment. To more deeply and permanently help people who are suffering from chronic and situational stress or trauma, she received training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).

Dr. Jesse Morgaina welcomes each of her clients to their treatment in an environment that is safe, unconditional, and nonjudgmental. She is geared to help people live joyful and fulfilling lives. Dr. Morgaina fully believes that there are no bad people; there are only people who have had bad situations happen to them. These negative situations can sometimes cause people to get stuck in their psyche in a way that disrupts their ability to blossom into the beautiful and loving individuals they long to be.
